Blog name change and a little update...

So my year of pictures was...unsuccessful. I actually did take a bunch of pictures but just never found the motivation to put them in here. They weren't good anyway....
So here I am...a new name to make it more generic and broad. Because who doesn't like things generic and broad? The "thing" these days is to blog and to name your blog after your last name. I've seen some pretty neat blog titles with people using their last names. I know someone with the last name Boboth and her popular blog is called "The Boboth Blogoth" pretty clever huh? Then there's Erica Tweet with "It's a Tweet Life After All!". Well aren't those convenient names! I grew up with Ekhoff which there is no way to make a creative blog title from that. And now I'm an Adams. So naturally..the Addams Family was what I thought of when thinking of a clever play on my last name. Sure they have an extra D in there...but we are fairly similar...

We LOVE dead things. Whether it be meat or zombies..we do not shy away from the morbid. When I was little, I wanted to be a teacher sure but what I really wanted to be was a homicide detective. My hero was Detective Munch from Homicide: Life on the Street. I also originally wanted to be a forensic scientist but my not-so-natural knack in chemistry told me to do otherwise. And to this day, my dream job would be a coroner. So I may not be cutting off the heads of roses but I do have a few dried/dead roses in a vase...so who knows. Plus, we could totally pull off the Morticia and Gomez look...
Us on our first Halloween married, the costume choice was obvious to us.

I'm not sure what this blog will contain. Because here's a quick update of our very exciting life.
1.) I'm addicted to my netflix. And...they're alphabetized. It totally plays to my neurotic, to-do list, ocd side. I love that there's order to it :) So I spend my days getting through that.
2.) I'm also addicted to reading. I have a library card now and have been reading like a mad woman (in between working, watching my netflix, watching my beloved TV, playing with my dog, and hanging out with my awesome husband).
3.) Brand has also been reading. Our X-box is broken so he's been reading...a lot....
BUT
4.)We did go to my dream vacation spot to Ireland in March and it was beyond amazing. I hope to post about how meaningful it was to me. And how I can't stop craving Guinness and Irish tea.

I'm excited to write. I like writing. I'm not good at it. But now that I don't have the guidelines of this picture ordeal, I can write about whatever I want. Movies I've seen, books I'm reading, shows I'm addicted to (Parenthood and Parks and Rec for example), oh and my oh so important opinions on Dancing with the Stars. Maybe I'll throw in some heartwarming stories that are seeping from my bleeding heart.

Happy Christmas!

Merry Christmas all you fellow bloggers!
I have some thoughts about this Christmas. It's been a little weird this year and I have not been able to get into the swing of things. Getting a Christmas tree helped but unfortunately things keep getting in the way which are preventing me from enjoying this joyous time of year. I was supposed to see my family the weekend before Christmas to celebrate the birth of Ollie and then to celebrate the birth of our Lord. But a broken down car shot down all those hopes. I was pretty grumpy for awhile. Not knowing when I'll see my family next breaks my heart. I knew that being away from them for the actual day would be hard. Missing out on traditions, missing out on seeing their faces as they open their gifts, and just plain missing my family. The thought of being with them the week before was comforting...now I feel like Christmas is just not happening.
I'm getting more into the Christmas mood. We have lights up and stockings hung. Christmas presents fill the space under the tree. And I am excited to work in some Adams family traditions and to start one of our own. But I know come Christmas morning I'll miss waking up early, opening up stockings, sitting in our assigned seating, opening presents up one by one, seeing the faces of my family who works hard all year long to relax and receive gifts that they'd never get themselves (save for Stephen who we have to tell NOT to buy certain things before Christmas). It won't be the same. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that I won't be bummed. I love my in-laws and I know that being with his family is important to Brand, but I just can't quite get there....

Also, just to let you know, I am currently working on my next picture of the day blog. I have SO many pictures in one blog that it's hard to organize them in order on my teeny computer screen so once I've stolen Brand's I'll finally publish it.

Lack of ______(Fill in the blank)

I'm not the best at sticking to things. I've never been good at New Year's Resolutions. And if I ever find myself overweight...I will probably never stick to a diet.
I have the BEST intentions. However, those Intentions are usually beaten to a bloody pulp by Laziness. Despite it's name, Laziness is actually quite active in my life. For example, instead of writing this blog I could be uploading pictures and writing cute quirky captions and actually be doing what this little blog was set up to do...but I choose to not look for my camera cord. Even if I could find it, I do not have many pictures to post. I have not taken a picture every day, not even every other day. My life is boring. I can't capture Brand's silly voices or my awesome jokes. I can't capture the feeling he gives me when he looks at me. I can't capture how light my heart feels as I come home to my sweet dog and my hilarious cat. I'm not an artist and although some people may be able to capture feelings in pictures, I just can't seem to do it. It's hard to take a picture of something that can't be seen. I really credit photographers (shout out to Rheanne!).
I think a lot of people think they can be photographers (evidenced by many "My Photography" albums on facebook that look well...not so great.) but not everyone can really capture these feelings. So a big shout out to you Rheanne and your sister and all the wonderful photographers out there..I'm so impressed by your creativity, insight, and of course your eye. Even though I never try to make the pictures look artistic, I'm impressed that photographers can find such beauty in everything when all I can see are these white walls....

10/1-10/21: I love fall :)

October is becoming one of my favorite months. As much as I love hot summer weather, I do love the crispness of fall. I feel like I can breathe better (which I can, Spokane produces something in the spring and summer that wreaks havoc on my sinuses!) Even though I now have to scrape my windows and turn on the heater...I am happy to live in a climate with seasons. Boise has seasons and even though I want to move to San Diego..I think I'd miss my seasons (except the cruel and harsh winters..no thank you!)
10/1: yum banana bread!

10/2: Our awesome treasurer volunteering to help me at our Meals on Wheels booth at Fido Fete!

10/3: Perty!

10/4: He doesn't care how big he is, as long as we're cuddling we're pretty happy :)

10/5: Starbucks with the girls after our semi-frequent Froyo Earth dates. Yum Naked grass juice!

10/6: You can't quite see them but I had random white spots around my bellybutton..they wouldn't go away!

10/8: Breakfast for dinner at Christie's! Snowflake waffles, zucchini bread, scrambled eggs, bacon, and hot cocoa :)

10/12: (yikes look at those missing dates!..oh well) picking colors for my new office!

10/13: First time out to eat in a long time! Celebrating Brand's new job with some strawberry lemonade at Red Robin.

10/15: Sushi! Brand mentioned sushi and as soon as he said we I was craving me a crunchy roll! We tried out a sushi restaurant near our house and lucked out! So yummy, affordable, and great service! I can't wait to go back :)

10/16: I delivered pet food to this lady's house and LOVED her little ghosts. I think it looks like they're singing :)

10/17: Greenbluff pumpkin picking! First time for me to ever pick my own pumpkin.

10/20: Jack o lanterns! Guess which one's mine. Hint: It's not mean looking and has an affinity for Harry Potter facial disfigurement :)

10/21: My first pumpkin roll! Since I bought too much pumpkin stuff and found an extra tub of cream cheese...I'll probably be making this again very soon (or pumpkin cheesecake!) Pumpkin is like the fall version of huckleberries..I'll eat pretty much anything that has it in it. Now I love huckleberry beer..I wonder about pumpkin beer...hmmm..

9/16-9/30: The end of September

It's been awhile since I've written in the blog. I've been trying my best to capture a picture every day, I just don't get the motivation to write in here about it all the time. Rheanne recently asked me why I stopped writing and I guess I just assumed no one really read it besides Brand. But it's good to know that at least a few people are reading it :) Here are the pictures from the rest of September:
9/16: Frustration!! Nothing to take a picture of that day :( Maybe I'm not looking hard enough
9/18: He is quite dashing in blue and orange

9/19: The little twerp smelled like pee, so we bathed him..he did not want help drying off.

9/20: Before they broke my heart in a devastating loss to the Saints...

9/21: Weekly Froyo Earth date with the friends..went for the candid shot :)

9/23: That penguin has its ways of following me around...he's like those creepy Mountain Dew penguins...dew be dew be dew....

9/24: Hanging with my favorite doggy in the whole wide world!

9/25: With Brand gone for the weekend, Dexter took over as cheering partner for the BSU game.

9/26: Season premiere of Dexter!! I think this picture is kinda neat because Dexter is always having to play multiple parts (to the dismay of his late father Harry).

9/27: Mama and her kids :) These two make me so happy.

9/28: Volunteers at our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner! It was quite fun and it was a great evening to appreciate our most valuable players!

I didn't take pictures on the 29th or 30th..I guess I was too busy sending out checks to pay my bills! Hopefully I can be better and maybe update once a week.
Hope you enjoyed the tiny peek into my boring little life...(but shush..I like it boring!)
